“Stories from the Heart: Micronesian Health in Transition”
Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
at UH Law School (Classroom 2) – Light refreshments provided
Over the last five weeks, Hawaii’s Micronesian community has organized numerous outreach and listening sessions in response to the decision by Governor Ige’s administration to terminate MedQUEST benefits for COFA migrants in Hawai‘i. While community advocates and the Hawai‘i Health Connector struggled to transition over 7,500 individuals to ACA-based healthcare plans, confusion and problems prevailed. Please join us for our first report-back on the data and stories collected from this outreach. The results may surprise and challenge you. And we hope this event will motivate you to re-think what the Micronesian healthcare story means for all of us as we move towards healthcare for all.
