The Star Advertiser ran two major articles entitled, “Micronesians Unite” and “Charter school could soften COFA culture shock” in its Sunday, August 16, 2015 edition about the partnership model for supporting citizens of the Compact of Free Association (COFA) nations of the FSM, Palau, and the Marshall Islands. It focused on the efforts of the new Micronesian-serving organization, We Are Oceania (WAO), the mentorship by the native Hawaiian-serving nonprofit organization, Partners In Development Foundation (PIDF), and a charter school feasibility study by UH Manoa doctoral students.
